Decorex, a prominent design event, returns to Olympia London from October 11th to 14th, 2026, featuring the highly anticipated Making Spaces programme, which showcases a curated selection of 14 artisans and their unique crafts.
The Making Spaces Committee, comprising seven influential figures in UK craft and design, hand-picked the artisans from over 200 entries.
Sam Fisher, Event Director at Decorex, states that “Making Spaces is now in its fifth consecutive year, and during this time it has grown hugely in popularity.”
The programme offers a platform for individual artisans to demonstrate their skills, develop relationships with designers, and connect with other craftspeople on an international scale.
It features live demos and workshops allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the skills and storytelling behind the pieces on display.
This year’s lineup includes Jarrad Belton, a fine furniture maker who uses sustainable timber to create statement pieces, and Louisa Boyd, who works with print and sculpture to express the human desire to belong.
They are joined by Julia Briere, a multidisciplinary designer focusing on material systems and interactive experiences, and Cara Campbell, a mural artist expert in lime techniques, blending fresco and stucco work to create decorative masterpieces.
The artisans will present an eclectic mix of design skills and unique offerings, from delicate ceramics to detailed weaving, including Gary Drostle, a mosaic artist with over 30 years of experience.
Michèle Oberdieck creates mesmerising glassworks inspired by botanical life.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn from Catharine Hammerton, an award-winning paper artist, and Helen Johannessen, a porcelain artist exploring visceral and tactile surfaces.
Matt Kavanagh, a sculptor and maker, will showcase his functional sculptures connecting location with memory and craftsmanship.
With over 280 brands showcasing their best offerings, Decorex is the perfect opportunity to source unique and bespoke pieces.
It is a chance to meet the makers who are pushing the boundaries of their crafts, including those participating in the London Design Festival events.
