Vinterior has teamed up with British luxury retailer Liberty to release an exclusive five‑piece capsule collection that blends vintage furniture with the brand’s signature interior fabrics.
Design collaboration brings vintage pieces to new life
The partnership was overseen by Liberty’s Head of Design – Home and Interiors, Genevieve Bennett, who guided the selection of each pre‑loved item from Vinterior’s archive. The goal was to pair classic mid‑century designs with Liberty’s contemporary fabric offerings, creating pieces that retain their original character while gaining a fresh visual identity.
One highlighted item is a Cassina Maralunga 2‑Seater Sofa, originally by Vico Magistretti. The sofa now features Liberty’s Shadow Stripe Weave in Amalfi, a fabric inspired by early 20th‑century art movements. The combination aims to balance softness, structural integrity, and a bold pattern without sacrificing the piece’s iconic silhouette.

Another notable inclusion is an Alky chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti in 1969 and produced by Anonima Castelli. It is upholstered in Liberty’s Zig Zag Velvet from the FuturLiberty line, a material that references early 20th‑century textile experiments and adds a tactile contrast to the sleek frame.
Two Carimate chairs by Vico Magistretti, dating from the 1960s, appear in the collection with Liberty’s Mount Stitch in Acacia. The densely embroidered fabric evokes mountainous terrain and forested scenes, framing the chairs’ vivid red upholstery. A Swedish Lamino footstool from the same era is wrapped in Liberty’s Cravat in Scarab Lacquer, a fabric chosen for its curvilinear qualities that complement the geometric lines of the chair.
The final piece is a vintage 1960s beech lamp paired with a bespoke Liberty lampshade in Ottoman Spot, a cut‑pile velvet derived from a 19th‑century artwork in the Liberty archive. The shade’s deep hue and texture are intended to harmonize with the lamp’s retro silhouette.

Both companies stress a shared commitment to lasting design. Vinterior founder Sandrine Zhang Ferron noted that Liberty’s “uncompromising commitment to craft” aligns with Vinterior’s focus on sustainable style. The collaboration reflects a broader trend of reusing existing furniture rather than producing new items, which can reduce material waste and extend the lifespan of classic designs.
Genevieve Bennett added that the fabrics were selected from the FuturLiberty and The House of Liberty collections because they match the era of the furniture. She highlighted the “shaped, curved silhouettes” and “strong geometrics” that unite the two brands’ aesthetics.
